Still sewing frantically...

I was looking at this and thought the bottom section might be worth revisiting, to use as a design for a clutch bag.Did I have a pattern for a clutch bag ? No! ...so time to get out the scrap paper and start playing about . Here's a mock up I made ,with a slightly adjusted photocopy of the original embroidery ,glued to the front of the flap.

Then onto this one, made with dupion silk ,sequins and faux suede.I decided to use the iridescent sequins instead of the flower shaped ones because I love the way they change in the light.Sometimes they're barely visible and all of a sudden flash!

Here's another; still in progress...should be finished tomorrow.I like the zing of the orange next to the powder blue.

I'm enjoying making these bags.It's great seeing something, at first only imagined, appear in 3d in front of me (after a bit of effort ,and a fair amount of getting it all wrong and having to do it over again!) I think the clutch bag shape might have lots of possibilities .The flap, being basically a rectangle, makes it easy to design embroidery for.

We recently agreed to a swap , and I'm so glad I did!
